In this chapter, we will cover the mathematical concepts required for dealing with the Maxwell’s equations and the interaction of electromagnetic fields with charged particles. This chapter has been placed towards the end of this book since we not only discuss the mathematical concepts but also its relation to the electromagnetic concepts discussed in earlier chapters. We will not go into too much details of these concepts and discuss only what is necessary. Readers who might have already learnt these mathematical concepts earlier are also encouraged to go through this chapter since the connections we make with electromagnetics might be new to them. In certain sections of this chapter, we also introduce a few advanced electromagnetic concepts (that are not mentioned earlier in this book) that may be of interest to the reader.
