The Abarim is a mountain range now in modern Jordan located near the Dead Sea to the northwest and to the east of the mouth of the Jordan River. The range stands on the southern border of “the plains of Moab.” The range is best known for Mt. Nebo, the mountain from which Moses looks in to the land of Canaan just prior to his death (Deut 32 : 48–52; Num 27 : 12–14). In Numbers 33 : 44–46, Mt.
