Abbahu was a Palestinian rabbi of the third generation, a student of R. Yoḥanan bar Nappaḥa and the most important teacher at Caesarea in the late 3rd and early 4th century. He was thus a contemporary of Eusebius of Caesarea. He presided over a local Jewish court and was most influential in community matters and synagogue affairs.
