De Gruyter to take over Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal

March 6, 2018

De Gruyter and MittUniversitetet, the Mid Sweden University (MiUn), will cooperate to publish the Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal (NPPRJ), thus far self-published by MiUn in co-operation with 9 other universities in Sweden, Finland and Norway. The new cooperation starts with Volume 33 (2018).

Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal (NPPRJ) is an international scientific journal covering the science and technology of wood and biomass constituents, pulp and paper, new fiber-based materials, recovery and by-products from pulping processes, biorefining, and energy issues.

NPPRJ publishes peer-reviewed articles of direct relevance to the forest products industry and of the highest possible scientific quality, with an emphasis on the ongoing rapid changes in research and development of commodities and advanced forest products.

“We are very much looking forward to cooperating with the Mid Sweden University to make the Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal even more influential and widespread, by offering our publishing, marketing and sales expertise and an appropriate topical environment”, said Karin Sora, Vice President STEM at De Gruyter.

“We are really satisfied in establishing a cooperation with De Gruyter on publishing NPPRJ. We are confident that this partnership will strongly benefit our efforts to further advance the status of NPPRJ as an internationally leading journal publishing new scientific results from research on the rapidly expanding new ways to utilize wood-based biomass, as well as on developments of pulping and papermaking science and technology", said Professor Per Stenius, Editor-in-Chief NPPRJ.
