De Gruyter is proud to announce it will publish the Open Access journal Innovative Surgical Sciences beginning in 2016. This newly founded journal is a publication of the German Surgical Association (DGCH); Dr. Joachim Jähne will act as editor-in-chief, heading up a superb international editorial board.
"Clinical and experimental surgery are fundamental areas of medical practice and a cornerstone of progress in medicine. We aim to devote increased attention to these areas in the future," says Dr. Till Meinert, Senior Editorial Director for Medicine & Life Sciences at De Gruyter. "We're extremely proud to serve as the publishing partner to the DGCH for this innovative and path-breaking Open Access journal."
Founded in Berlin in 1872, the German Surgical Association (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Chirurgie) is one of the oldest professional associations in the medical sciences. It currently has 6,600 members.
Innovative Surgical Sciences will appear quarterly in English. It will serve as an international forum for the discussion of scientific and practical issues in the field of surgery, publishing original papers, reviews, and case studies.
